Layout - baby UR 2 cute

Hello again! Here's the second layout I finished yesterday, after having to think about it overnight.

I really admire this minimal style, but all that white space in my own work just terrifies me - is it balanced? does it need more? is it too much white? should I add more layers? But overnight I decided that this was just enough, and highlights my cheeky little man really well.  There is more journalling on the back of the layout so I didn't clutter up more of the white space once I'd decided it was finished.

Layout recipe:
Cardstock/paper, thickers: Ready Set Go! (Amy Tangerine)
Other: rub ons (Paper Inklings?), Basic Black marker (SU!), spotty brads (Kaszazz)

Challenge:
The layout is based on the Stuck?! May 1st sketch:

Layout - you are awesome

Hello!  Did you have a good weekend? I hope you got everything done that you wanted to - I am getting over a bad cold, so despite my inner desire to tidy up a bit, I did mostly chill... not that there's anything wrong with that!

I managed to get two layouts done yesterday which was great!  This first one is based on the May sketch from My Creative Sketches:

The two right photos got manipulated a bit, but I was finally happy with this arrangement.  You may not be able to tell, but I have journaled on a card that is sitting behind the two file tabs at the top about this particular soccer game.

Card recipe:
Cardstock/paper & stickers: That's My Boy (Echo Park), bazzill

Card - happy birthday wishes

Hi! I hope you are having a relaxing Saturday!  We are! I'm (finally) crafting, hubby is catching up on some tv shows he missed during the week and The Boy is playing lego - I just LOVE lazy weekends!! We certainly haven't had many lately!

I know I haven't shared anything lately, I have been doing lots of colouring, but nothing has actually been turned into a card for a few weeks now... Even after the goodies I ordered for my birthday I still couldn't find my mojo <cue very sad face here>.  I think it is partly to do with being sick this week, away for work part of last week, and running the office singlehandedly this month while my boss is on annual leave... I'm just worn out and when I get home I just kind of flop.  Sometimes I share my colouring on Instagram - feel free to check it out or follow me there.

So here's a card I whipped up this morning to share with you.  I decided I've had enough of being unmotivated, and I'm going to MAKE things today! Yay!  When I saw that Mo's DP2 Challenge blog was having a 'whimsical character' challenge, I knew my brand new fairies were perfect.  And I challenged myself to use green - basically because the owner of a local craft store informed me that the reason she didn't have many green copics was that it wasn't a colour people used except for flowers really... Do you agree? Do you use green a lot? I haven't got a great range (yet!), but I do love admiring the gorgeous green gowns and hair and fins and sea creatures that are being coloured all over the net!

Card recipe:
Cardstock/paper: Xpress-it blending card, Kaisercraft, Stampin' Up!
Stamp sets: Mo's Fairy Sweet (Penny Black), Petite Pairs (SU!), Gorgeous Grunge (SU!)
Colouring medium: copics
Ink: Pistachio Pudding (SU!), Memento Tuxedo Black, glue ink
Other: oval punch, border die, ric-rac, green sticky pearls, winter frost glitter, ice stickles

Challenges:
Mo's DP2 Challenge: whimsical characters
This card was also used as an example of my work over on the guest DT post on the Kit and Clowder forum.

Thanks for visiting, I think a scrap page is in order next!! But lunch first!

Card - adorable baby

Hello!  We are having some major internet problems at home, so this past week I haven't been able to share on my blog, enter challenges or even check out my blog reader! So I snapped a piccy of my latest creation last night, and quickly sharing it now from work before I get started with the very busy day ahead!

It was my birthday last week and I treated myself to some fun new products to play with, some from my favourite Aussie online store Scrapbook Boutique, and I'm waiting for a parcel to come from Loves Rubberstamps in the US.  I've never ordered anything from overseas before (it's my self-imposed spending restriction! Otherwise I'd be broke all the time from all the delicious goodies available!) so I'm just a wee bit excited :)

So I got me some Mo fairies! Yay!  I just love Mo's images, they are so sweet and so much fun to colour!

Card recipe:
Cardstock/paper: Whisper White (SU!), Express-It blending card
Stamp sets: Fairy Sweet (Penny Black, Mo Manning), Sweetest Gift (SU!)
Colouring medium: copics
Inks: Wisteria Wonder (SU!), Memento Black
Embossing Folder: Delicate Designs (SU!)
Other: ice stickles

Challenges:
Mo's DP2 Challenge: CAS with a Mo image
